Glasses Translators


Constraint language differences when two people from different countries want to communicate is often a problem. When the help of interpreter services is less practicaland may often be subjective, a tool named Tele Scouter this could be a practicalsolution.

Tele Scouter has a primary function as a human translator. Such a device consists ofglasses, cameras, and microphones are directly used users.
When the speaker utter a sentence in a foreign language, the microphone will continuethat line to the portable computer worn on the wrist. The computer then forwards the information to the server that will translate the sentence. The translation then sent to the user via retinal display on glasses.

Its small and lightweight making Tele Scouter comfortable to wear. The projection of the text that is not directly in the center of vision makes the user can still maintain eye contact when communicating with the other person.

NEC, Tele Scouter producer, plans to market its products starting next year with a system that could fit the needs of 30 users. Funds needed for the project was estimated to 750 million yen, or about USD 78 billion.
